Is sweating a symptom that the heart is not pumping right?  Or is it from the medicine bystolic?

As you have been taking the beta blocker Bystolic for 2 years, it is highly unlikely that your sweating is from the medication.

We all sweat for all sorts of reasons, from being too hot, fighting a bacterial or viral infection and so on.  Sweating is the body's way to keep cool.

With heart problems, you would have a cold and clammy sweat, and other symptoms.

Sweating on its own does not necessarily indicate that there is any problem.

If you are concerned and have any other symptoms, I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss this with him.  The doctor will examine you to see if you have any viral or bacterial infections that may be the cause of your sweating.

My misunderstanding.  My suggestion above still stands...if he/she is sweating and taking this medication, you should call 911 and get them to the ER by ambulance.

Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.

Sweating can be caused by many things, one of them being that something is wrong with the heart esp. in a person with heart disease.

Do you mean systolic (top #) or diastolic (bottom #)?  There is no "bystolic."

If you are concerned that something is wrong and you or a person you are caring for is sweating abnormally and has a heart condition, then call 911 and get them to the ER.
