If you still eating salty, stop putting salt on your food right away. Your sodium intake cannot be higher than 1600 mg per day. It is a pain to count it first, but you will get use to it. Remember all food has sodium naturally. That’s the secret to get rid of the water from your system. But of course it is not enough. It is only what you can do. Also get an  appointment , that might take days or more so until watch all you eat. You will get water pills for sure, and a set of test. My heart failure started like that with edema.
Also you might develop pulmonary edema. I had.
Pulmonary edema, especially in the acute setting, can lead to respiratory failure, cardiac arrest due to hypoxia and death.
I would call the doctor right away!! Or visit the emergency department of your hospital.

You're gonna have to get some blood tests done to find out the cause.  Some people swell from liver disease.  Have it checked out, it could be serious.

Hi there,

You will need a prescription for a Diuretic (water pill) to help you with fluid retention and you can even get over the counter Diuretics, but it is best to get bloodtests done on the functioning of your Kidneys and Hormones.

You will need to see your General Practitioner to get to the bottom of this.

All the best,
