to soon?

My physician started me on Lisinopril 20mg every day to help lower my blood pressure on 9/23. I had a follow up appointment today and he increased it to 30mg every day. Is this normal? It seems a little to soon to be increasing a medication after only taking it for 3 days.

Thank you for the reply,

I guess if its a pretty quick working medications the results that my BP was 152/102 on 9/23 148/100 on 9/24 and 140/90 today. :) so I guess it would make sense to increase it a little bit.

I have been taking Lisinopril for about 5 years.  It is not unusual to begin therapy wilh less than optimum dosage for the system to adjust.  I began 10mg 2x, awhile later 20mg 2x and that continues currently.

Whether or not it is an inappropriate dosage may depend on side effects if any, and if your blood pressure is not too low.  The usual target goal (for heart patients) is to get the blood pressure as low as possible without any serious side effects
