yellow poop

I have been seeing my primary care doc for a few weeks regarding my heart.  I had some symptoms, like rapid heart beat, (but I also have panic and anxiety attacks, but this was different but maybe a contributor), out of breath, being tired, coughing... went to see him and I am now on metoprolol to prevent heart failure.  He has also changed my levothyroxine (which I have been taking for over 20 years).  I have had some side effects like dizziness but I suffer from vertigo, which I so wonderfully acquired years ago, (I'm my own amusement ride)!  Anyway, I had cold feet and nose, circulation problems but that has seemed to stop.  I went to a Cardio doc, and am scheduled for Echo.  My question is now I have yellow poop, although colorful, I am concerned.  Could it be the medicine, anemia, hemoglobin, change in my diet, (I am trying to eat healthier and have no red meat in about a month)?  One significant difference is my digestion.  I seem to be experiencing Gerd, ( a feeling that I have food or something stuck in my stomach and having something stuck in my throat which makes me swallow a lot.  Oh a few more things, all this happened while I was admitted in the hospital for oral surgery/facial cellulites and the removal of 6 teeth.  They kept asking me if I had problems with my heart, then my EKG was off and they ended up giving me potassium ( which was painful).  Believe me I ask my doctor everything, I even write it down he just seems very evasive and throws everything to the side except my rapid heart beat.  I was the one that requested the Cardio doc and Echo and I think he should have, now I'm on this medicine and trying to find out for myself whats going on.  Sorry for the length in this but I need some input, especially about the yellow poop because that could be a warning sign for something and any input would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks

so true, had my echo today the cardio doc said they saw nothing so thats good, we will see. called my doc about acid reflux and he said it didn't sound like that was it when he was the one that told me I had it.  I'm not a doc but by everything thats going on I really believe it is, now I have to go get a barium swallow, which isn't a bad thing,(except for the taste), better get a  bucket! maybe it will help determine whats up with this.   it is like pot luck,a guessing game, put everything in and see what comes out.  so I don't mean to be rude because I'm not like that I've just been overwhelmed,I would like to ask  how are u doing? I'm new on here but if u ever just want to let off steam u can send it to me.  I have always done things on my own because I had to and I know just having someone to vent to is therapeutic and u don't have to pay, a therapist that probably has more issues than u and me lol!  oooops, my catin ( my term for not yet out of the kitten stage but not quite a cat), just stepped on the keys, he is crazy. thanks again for your input.

I have been researching and seeking treatments for two years and it seems you have to really fight for what you want most of the time. Lots of experts, all with different experience, all with different confidence, all with different opinions. It seems like we have to try and put all this into a pot, and make sense of it. It really is hard work and tiring.
There's an old saying, if you want anything done you have to do it yourself. This is how it feels a lot of the time.

Thank u again.  I had a bad day yesterday and into the night.  I was having the feeling that there was something stuck i my throat with a gurgle sound, my stomach was constatnly gurgling, had gas and in the middle of my breastbone it was sore and hurt when I bent down or reached up or turned to the side, kinda like a pulling.  I was up most the night, took mylanta and and prilosec that my doc prescribed me.  Well this morning I still have it although the throat thing is gone.  I have only been drinking water and broth.  Called my doc and he called me back said it wasn't acid reflux (which he was the one that told me I had it), said I must have pulled a muscle in my chest possibly by lifting something, which is bull, it only started with what was going on yesterday, and then he told me to keep taking a medicine that he prescribed for me a long time ago for a prior surgery that I'm not on anymore.  I'm looking for a new doc because there is so much more to this than I can type but just as an example, when I first went to him and told him all the symptoms I was having regarding being out of breath just getting up, tired.... his response was everyone gets out of breath, what time do u go to bed you need more sleep and answers like that. I finally lost it and said "hey your being hostel, I'm coming to u with real symptoms and your just not listening"...anyway after, he took some blood work, said at rest my heart rate was 120 to 130, he put me on beta blocker, which I have had side effects from and off my thyroid because of possible heart failure.  I'm very proactive about things and I listen to my body, I'm so aggravated because bottom line is its not him staying up all night with some kind of discomfort, its me.  He did send me to a cardio doc at MY request and he saw me for a few minutes and spent most of the time praising my PCP, felt like it was just set-up to appease me, well I have an echo tomorrow, which I asked for, maybe that will shed some light on whats going on.  Thank you so much, we all feel a bit "lost", at times and I guess its my turn and its nice to have u respond to me.  I hope your well, seems like u have been through quiet a bit.

thanks ed34, as I am reading this I have the sensation that something is stuck in my throat.  It feels like a pill or food.  From all I have read about it I think it is GERD/acid reflux.  I had this before but not that bad and I mentioned it to my doc went to the ENT.   My doc prescribed Prilosec but that really didn't do anything.  I have been taking Mylanta with not much success.  However, in about a months span a lot has changed for me.  I was in the hospital for facial cellulitus, had surgery with 6 teeth removed, went to doc for feeling out of breath, he was concerned with heart failure so I was put on a beta blocker, being taken off and now back on thyroid medication and trying to change my diet a bit, and all the stress is nuts, soooo, here I am looking for info. I appreciate your response ed34!

Yellow stools are normally a sign that your food is passing through your gut too quickly for all the normal processes to take place on your stools. People with GERD are particularly prone to this. It can also be contributed to a low bile output.
