10 months later

How long can you wait until you are convinced that it's time to go back to the Cardi for ablation #2? I've hung in for 10months and now I'm set for this next Tuesday after a VTach episode. I was wearing a Cardionet monitor at the time and it came out of nowhere. Was being monitored due to stronger and stronger pvcs and now taking Pradaxa and Cardizam in prep for procedure. I asked for this ablation so I quess we'll see if #2 changes anything. Thanks to this community I don't feel so alone. It's been along time since I was on the site with a question but I'm glad to be back.

Thanks you for your supportive words. I'm definately going for it on Tuesday. The mighty V is the second incident I've had. The first time was back in June. Cardioverted without meds for pain (what a thrill that was!). and now this. I converted on my own but Doc has the opening and I'm headed to PaloAlto. Thank you eveyone.

I would do it the instant they had an opening =) if it was Vtach (sustained VT)

non sustained VT I would want to see what I had, where it was, how many runs I had etc - VT even long runs is sometimes difficult to provoke and ablate

I've had both NSVT and sustained, they ablated but it didn't cure me, but there are others that it does work for =) so ask your dr about it.  Good thing you were wearing a monitor that gives you a much better success rate because they can most likely see where it's coming from.

Is this a new development? What exactly did the monitor catch - non-sustained, sustained, etc. If it was a sustained VT and your EP is willing to do the ablation, I'd definitely keep the appointment. I've read over your posts and you certainly have been through enough this year. I wish you the best. It's very good they were able to get you in so soon too!  Good luck!

If its been almost a year Candi and you know your doc, trust your doc and they say that you are in the 70% or higher range for success i would personally run and not walk to that ablation especially if you had an episode of Vtach.  I was on the cardionet too after my ablation and thank goodness my little issues ended up being non issues and i had to power thru them and was put on a low dose beta blocker to take the edge off.  Definately do not feel alone...alot of us went thru alot of scary things after the ablation and i know for myself this site was my saving grace with a sense of reason so i didn't take it to the next level emotionally.  I personally feel if the episodes are getting progressive its time to get proactive as a safeguard and for myself and i hope and pray it doesn't happen four years after my ablation that if anything pops up i am totally comfortable in going back in for what i call a tune up if the buggers rear their ugly heads again...good luck Candi and remember we are all here for you................
