I had a medical conversion from Afib and when I converted (in the hospital) there was a 9 second pause, which made me feel faint. I did not pass out, but was told later that was a pretty long pause. another doctor said it was normal when you convert.
I have the same thing happening to me. I have had A-fibs for a very long time, but the last 2-3 years, it is accompanied by these black-out spells and it always seems at precisly the moment my heart reverts back to a normal rhythm. Habe you ever herad of anyone else doing that? What does your doctor say?
I had all kinds of blood test and heart test done and I passed them all.
Thanks, yes that is my understanding too. And my heart is healthy. Just wondering if the Afibs caused the fainting epiosode; if so, that has never happened before. I just feel light-headed when I have them. But this time I felt dizzy, sweaty, had to sit down and then, next thing I knew, I was on my hands and knees bleeding from several cuts.
So must have blacked out for a few seconds and hit my face when I keeled over.
Luckily it happened inside the house, not outside, and my hip (operated on 5 weeks ago) was not affected.
A-fibs are dangerous if you have an unhealthy heart and therefore become more likely to shoot a clot and have a stroke. A-fibs with blood thinners, from my understanding, should be safe. Most cardiologists I ave dealt with have told me my occassional A-fib is not life threatening or dangerous and alot of it is due to my healthy heart.
