thanks guys for your answers:) i have all the tests and ablation but the ectopic doesnt show up on test altough they no they are there and these other symtoms are only in the last week or 2 for 3 days now i have been gettin worse not sure wot to do
Can be three possible things:
It seems your carotid pulse is exactly doubled. Is it regular? Is one beat harder than the other?
1) In your carotid arteries, you may sense double pulsations with each heartbeat. It can be a sign of heart disease, and it can be a normal finding.
2) You may be in so-called bigeminy (one PVC or PAC for each normal beat). The ectopic beat is usually impossible to feel in the radialis artery. In this case, the heart rate wouldnt be regular, something like bam-ba...bam-ba.. (a weak beat after the main one)
3) You may sense your venous pulse (jugular pulse) in one of the jugular veins. This is common in supine position, often low on your neck, especially right side. You have 2 venous pulsations for each heartbeat. Sometimes the venous pulse and the artery pulse can mix (the blood vessels are paired) and you can sense a real mess.
This is probably something called "pulse deficit". Pulse deficit means that your *heart* rate is different from your *pulse* rate.
What you are probably detecting in your carotid is your actual heart rate. Because your radial pulse is further away it's only picking up ventricular systoles, so it's less, hence the pulse deficit.
Pulse deficit can indicate things like a-fib or certain types of ventricular premature beats.
I would suggest you try to pick it up on a holter event monitor to be sure.
sorry misspelt carotid anyway i have ectopic beats and palpitations and under cardioligist but now my heart shivers and the pulse in my neck is up to 167 bpm but my pulse in my wrist is 84 bpm when i turn on my side lyin down
Your technical description is "over my head". I don't know the difference (or what is) between cartoroid pulse and radial pulse. If you can elaborate on that it may help others comment in a helpful way.
Does this happen every time, for both sides? Roll over from your back to your side? What do you consider "racing" and "normal" heart rates?
