Hey Betty,
It is postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. Meaning when you stand up your body can't adjust and there is a spike in heart rate. I am showing some sign of that so they put me on the midodrine to increase my blood pressure so that when I stand up the blood will move with more force. That has seemed to help (except today I don't feel very good) and yesterday the doctor said to add a toporol on in the morning to further slow the heart rate. I get nervous combining medications but I guess I should trust that they know what they are talking about...
Hi from Betty,
Can you please tell me what POTS is? Also, why is he adding the Toprol?
Thanks for the info!
