In March this year I went through the normal routine of heading to a cafe for an afternoon coffee. Before the coffee arrived, I felt a strong flutter in my chest and felt that the sensastion had passed something through my body. I stood up for a moment and either did, or thought I did feel a little fizzy all over. I walked next door to the medical centre and told them that I needed to see a doctor as I thought I may be having soem type of heart attack. I had an immediate ECG - clear, and a blood test. It was more so the fear of having something wrong with my heart, out of my control that worried me. Earlier that week I thought I was getting a bit of a bug, with sore, itchy eyes and a headache for a day or so. That passed, but then I had this unusual experience. Since the flutter, I have experienced ongoing rushes of fear associated with heart 'stumbles', even though a cardiologist cleared me of any heart disease. I'm a relatively fit 40 year old, but have been suffering from indigestion and gurgling guts ever since. I am convinced that there is a link between digestive issues and ectopic beats but don't seem to have any luck with doctors. They just wanted to put me on an anti anxiety medication but it hasn't been mental health issues which started it all. Anyone with any suggestions would be re-assuring. I have had a fundoplication for hiatus hernia - reflux which eliminated the need for PPI and other drugs about five years ago. Could it be a bulging hiatus irritating something in the cardiac region?
