palpitations

Hello, I'm a 17 year old male and I have been having what feels like heart palpations, I can feel these in my arms, neck, legs and today I checked my pulse rhythm and it was doing this as well. These episodes feel like a muscle twitch. I had this checked out by a electrocardiologist I think that's what he's called. I did a holster monitor for 24 hours but didn't have any problems while having it on, he has also done a electrocardiogram, stress test and a tilt table test which all came back good he told me they are just spasms. Pretty much I've never had the episodes while I was having tests done. I asked my doctor if panic attacks could cause these but he didn't think that was the issue. I get these about every 2 hours followed by warmness in my chest they really are messing my life up and are very scary, what are the chances of dying from these things? should I go back to the doctor?

sounds like you may have mitral valve prolapse, it's not fatal you  just get palpiations and chest pains, and lightheadedness and headaches are also common, if it makes you feel any better im 15 and have palpitations, and lightheadedness ,sometimes i also get weird chest pains  that feel like i have a bubble in my heart, or like part of my heart isnt working.

hope that helps, and going to the doctor again would probaly be good idea

When I had my palpitation, the family doctor listened to my chest.  He said it is something wrong but he wasn't a cardiologist.  He sent me to a cardiologist next morning.  ECG turned out nothing wrong.  He said I have a very healthy and normal heart.  The family doctor told my mum to take me to the emergency if next palpitation started.  Don't bring me to him.

I might give you an idea from my story above.  Next, lets go to the ER and let them catch the episodes, run the tests and find out what's going on.  It is also a good opportunity that they can documentary all your heart events if they found anything wrong.

Take care.
