Having the doctor reassure me that my PAC's/PVC's are benign and all my test results are negative is nice to hear but I agree it is not what we feel during a strong episode of palpitations. I would love to have the physician experience strong palpitations and tell me they are nothing to worry about. From all the posts on this and other sites there are many of us that have to grin and bear it. Stay calm and explore all avenues for a cause. Unfortunately for some there are no clear and simple answers. good luck.
After spending a year on this site, I understand that palps are common. That doesnt make them any more pleasant. Consider a diary to understand what triggers the palps. Some common triggers; stress, lifting weights, after food, or body position (ie laying on left side). Stress is very common. Consider long term stress. sometimes stressors can add up. Stomach issues such as hiatal hernias or esophogeal ulcers can affect the vagus nerve, which can cause palps. Google away if any of these sound familiar. Good luck and keep in mind..... most doctors give you 15 minutes in there office. After they walk out, they are off to see another patient. I would bet they rarely take home your file to study. Be your own advocate. Use the net for research, just dont over react. there is alot of scary stories out there. Good luck.
Have you had an ECG while feeling the palpitations? If you have are they saying they've found nothing or nothing to worry about? There is a difference.
Some people are just more sensitive to feeling their heart beating, every ones heart has at least the occasional 'missed beat'. You say you have palpitations frequently, but later you say you go for months without them. Try not to worry too much because only makes things worse. Many people, me included, get palpitations every day. My dov keeps, telling emits worse because I'm anxious about it. Adrenaline makes these things worse, hence trying to worry less.
