I may be wrong, but I always thought the higher the heart rate the better.  Providing your heart is healthy.  Before I was put on Metoprolol for AFIBS my heart rate would go up to 172 when cresting a steep hill (running) Now it can only go to 150.

But the doctor was impressed that my heart rate was that high on the treadmill test also.

I'm 72 and I think your heart rate sounds fine to me.  But this is just my opinion, of course.

Sounds like a great HR to me.  The 155+ is a bit too high for most of us at 67, I recommend you consider the guideline of keeping your HR below (maybe no more than 90% or) 220-age, or below 150.

I can't say 165 will damage, that all depends on your condition and the condition of your heart, but it is above the recommended limit.
