Is there a possiblility a pacemaker could improve the quality of life for an Alzheimer's patient? My husband has taken a Holter Monitor testing and is possiblity suffering from Sick Sinus Syndrome and from what I read there are a lot of similarities in the symptoms of SSS and Alzheimer's Disease. Would a pacemaker make any difference to his functioning in general?
#R-Rs >2sec simply means pause/distance (more than 2 seconds) between R to R(9 times during the hole monitoring) that significant for the report but can be in normal patient during sleep and associated with bradicardia . Pause >4sec. make patient unconsciousness. One R more simply means one heart beat.
About ST-changes, I think you have depression(1.275mm) which is means ischemia but depression can be due to some drugs. There is NO myocardial infarction present(0.2mm).
V=ventricular beats.Total amount of V-beats is 462.Time is duration of hole monitoring record. V-beats can be in normal patient and for you V-beat can be because of pause, or pause because of V-beat(depend on your case) . Basically it`s confusing to read machine report part (lazy technician) and it's better to consult with your doctor, because only your doctor have the hole report and he know how to correctly read that software report! For treatment Doctor can give you some sympathetic or antiarrythmic drugs(depend on other ECG finding) or keep it as it is. Just do systematic checking to have prognosis in future.
Remember: heart is not a liver, once heart tissue were damaged it will be never reverse again!
