PAC & RBBB & Ventolin

Hello there.  I'm a healthy 29 year old women, mother of two young children and a married stay-at-home.  I do have asthma and use Ventolin on a daily basis, but rarely more then one or two single puffs a day.  I've always had heart rhythm issues with the odd missed beat or forceful beat. When I was 25 I was very sick and had emergancy surgery to remove my appendix and gall bladder. After that my heart issues increased to the point of requiring a Holter, several EKG's and stress tests.  All came back normal but for the fact that I have a right branch bundle block. I am told this is of no concern and not to worry.  My palpitations come and go but seem to be getting more frequent.  I understand ventolin can cause them and also Caffeine of which I do partake.  I'm wondering if the forceful heartbeats and the RBBB are really something to worry about?  Could the RBBB be causing the palpitations?  Is the ventolin the cause of it all?  I realize not all these questions can be answered but I'm hoping to shed some light on the situation.  I don't like worrying over nothing.  Many thanks, Kara

Not to minimize your discomfort but 6 palpitations in 20 minutes would not raise any alarms at a doctor visit. On a "active heart" day for me I average 5 or 6 a minute. And that is still fewer than some folks that get 30,000 or more a day. I can't imagine that many. Even with that number, no harm is done. Some people will take medication to reduce the number or sensation of so many PVC's (palps). I'm not sure your doctor would risk that in your case (meds have side effects).

Do check the time of increased palpitations after dosing with your inhaler. I would bet that you feel more heart hiccups after that than any other time of day. Feel better soon.

I'm not sure if mine is incomplete but I have to assume it is because my dr. told me not to worry.  It's reassuring to read what you've wrote and does help make me feel a bit better.
Thanks

I've noticed that my heartbeat does increase, yes, but i've not noticed how long it lasts.  I'll have to check next time I take it.

Yesterday I was going out for a walk with my two kids and I took a puff of Ventolin before we left and also had about 4-5 gulps of  a soda just after. In the first 20nins of the walk I had no less then 6 palpitations.

This morning I've had a cup of weak tea and no ventolin at all. Instead of the usual huge forceful beats I've had two weak sort of almost inverted-feeling palpitations.

I don't understand what is going on and I really want to fix it.  Thanks for your input.

Kara.

I also have a Incomplete RBBB, I was looking on the doctors forums and reading about them and one of the doctors said ( I forget what the exact wording was) " RBBB and PVC's PAC's arent mechanically built to have anything to do with eachother" and also he posted a study that the airforce did and out of 237,000 people (under age 30)  379 had a RBBB and out of all of those only one needed a pacemaker in 10 years.

I have various arrhythmia problems plus asthma. When I use Ventolin (it's an adrenergic drug, behaves similarly in your body like adrenalin), my heart will pound and beat faster for about 10 minutes. Then it slows down to normal again by then end of 20 minutes. Does that sound similar to your experience?
