PAC's Pvc aggravated by combivent inhaler

Does anyone know if an inhaler ( I use combivent) can aggravte PACS and PVCS? I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?

hi judy..i have an implantable cardiac defibrilator..b/c my heart went into svts....not knowing why.....my defibrilator shocked me 4 seperate occasions....and each occasion was 15 mins after i took combivent....4 occasions in 6 months.....i have stopped the combivent 4 years ago..figuring this out myself...and my defibrilator has NOT shocked me not even ONE time since...STAY AWAY FROM COMBIVENT!

The very short answer to your question is yes it can...combivent also known as albuterol has ingredients in it such as steroids that can definately aggrevate the rhythm of your heart and is actually one of the side effects.  I was on albuterol a couple of years ago for bronchitis and the second time i used the inhaler my heart started really acting up...my family doc is the one who prescribed it...i called my heart doc and he told me not to use it and call back the family doc to give me an inhaler that was steroid free....in the past two years here in the U.S, there has been all kinds of testing done on the effects of the heart and albuterol with people who have rhythm issues and from what i have read none of which is too great in the results.  I wouldn't eliminate anything that helps you to breathe easier until you speak w. the same doc and ask them to change up the med w. something that is steroid free....good luck...i wish i could remember what the replacement was but can't for the life of me.....RNRita can probably toss out what may work instead of this med....
