PVC's and chest pain

I have had PVC's frequently for the past 5-6 yrs and it seems to be related to stress and my thyroid condition which bounces back and forth between hyper and hypo thyroidism. I have seen a cadiologist that performed lots of tests and holter monitor, etc. We tried atenolol which lowered my B/P too much, and toprol which made me feel fatigued, and now I am taking bisoprol. The bisoprolol has worked the best but yesterday I woke up with PVC's and then took my medication, and went to see my grandmother in a nursing home. I then started having chest pain that went up my neck and through to my back. I asked the nurse to take my b/p and pulse. My b/p was 110/80 and pulse was 47, she took it eletronically and my b/p was 118/70 and pulse of 48. I wasn't sure what to do so I went back to my parents house and laid down and seemed better after awhile. I am not sure if I should take my pulse before taking the bisoprol and not take if below 60, or keep taking and hope for the best, or what? The chest pain really scared me and I wondered if I had received any damage or it was just lack of blood due to low pulse and pvc's combined. I just wanted you opinion of this episode. Thank you!

Your b/p is amazing Lea and altho your pulse is low in pro athletes that is the norm.  Because you are having some sort of chest pains could mean something or nothing. Remember as women our symtoms for a heart attack are totally different then men....we get a true shortness of breath, pain in the upper or lower back, nausea, pain in our face, a feeling of doom sometimes up to month before, flu like symtoms.  Chest pain is really not the norm for woman altho some have described a slight pressure but not pain.  It is genetically different then men so i wouldn't worry on the fact unless you have some/all of the symtoms i listed.  I would definately make a call to my doc tho to talk to them on how you should be taking your meds because we can't help you there and i would worry if someone did speak up and tell you how to take your meds.  Everyone is different, some people are told by their docs to take their meds PRN (or as necessary) and some are told to take their meds daily so only your doctor can answer that.  Sounds to me like you are a little scared and usually that is because you don't have all of the info that your mind is telling you that you need to find a safe place in your heart mentally with this.  Trust me if you were having a heart attack your B/P would be off of the charts....relax and call the doc tomorrow unless it is bugging you alot today and you can just call their office and the answering service will patch you thru to the doc and you can ask them directly.  Thats why we all pay them the big bucks.....and remember anxiety wipes us out and makes us super tired......good luck

The pain could not be related to your heart,  did you left or bend the wrong way, I know I am the same way I am getting better.  The minute I have any in my shoulder and chest I worry its my heart.  If you are very concerned about the episode I would make an appt to see your dr.  Do you get lightheaded or dizzy?    If your not dizzy or lightheaded then the heart rate being in the 40's would probably not be a problem.

Good Luck!.
