protonix and pvcs

I'm throwing this one out there.  I have been taking Protonix for 7 months.  Could this possibly be what is increasing my pvc's?   Brook do you know of any side effects from this drug relating to heart issues?  I can't find any but I'm sure if I look hard enough.............

Make sure you have your doctor check your magnesium levels while taking these drugs long term, as they have been associated with sometimes severe hypomagnesemia, which could cause PVCs and other heart rhythm problems.

I thought I remembered reading something about 80+% of the active ingredient being eliminated by the body within 24 hours.  If you've been taking it awhile, I would imagine it would take 2-3 days for it to completely clear your system.

RNRita - I'm worried about going off because it really did help.  I used to use Gaviscon but it stopped working.  I have been on Protonix for quite a while so maybe I will stop and see if I can have luck with Gaviscon and Tums again.  Did the pvc's stop right away as soon as you went off it?
WIsconsin2007 - I don't see any literature with palps as a side effect either and my cardio gave them to me and told me it wouldn't bother my heart.  But I have to wonder....  I bought the tea last night from Amazon.
Thanks for taking the time to respond

Wow - I'd never heard of that.  My family doctor recently thought I had a case of gastritis and gave me a three week supply of Protonix - the warning sheet said nothing about arrhythmias or anything relating to heart rhythm.  While on it I can't say I noticed any change in PVC frequency, and I'd only been having a few a day at that point.

But while on it I did lose virtually all of my appetite, which was another symptom not mentioned in the literature.

Hi there.  I posted months ago because I was on Prilosec and noticed the very same thing.  When I thought back to all my times on Protonix or Aciphex, I can DEFINITELY tell you there is a correlation. I have extreme acid, so I've tested this over the last few months.  Every single time I start one of these, my PVCs become much worse.  When I posted I got a lot of responses that the same thing happened to others.  Now I just take after-the-fact drugs like Zantac, tums, and Gaviscon.  Nothing I can do.  I had to decide which I hate worse.  When I was on one of them I was in bigeminy for 8 weeks!  I told doctors and they probably think I'm crazy, but I don't care.  I KNOW what I feel.
