PVC's & flu

I have a damaged heart and recently diagnosed with PVCs...I am waiting for an EP Study in about 2 weeks. Today I got the flu...I haven't thrown up (yet), but I am concerned about it and even just the flu symptoms.  Also...I don't have CHF or blockage. Should I be concerned?

I am so sorry to hear about the complication of a heart attack during your surgery. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Since you have had a heart attack compounded by possible damage from a previous virus, the presence of PVC's suggests that an already increased risk may be even higher.

Suppressing the PVCs with antiarrhythmic drugs does not reduce risk, and actually tends to increase the risk. You may want to give your Dr's office a call. Even though it is the weekend, don't hesitate to make a call there should always be someone covering the practice. They would be the best to advise you as to whether your current symptoms are putting you at an increased risk.

I wish you the best, and good luck for your EP study in 2 weeks. Please keep us updated with your results:)

I had a heart attack about 2 months ago while having parathyroid surgery, but they think my damage could be from a previous virus. They say I have thousands as many and as frequently as a second apart. I am 60. I am on Diovan, Carvedilol, Lipitor, Flursemide, Klor-con for the heart and Synthroid and Nexium.

Hello...

When you say that your heart is "damaged" could you be a little more specific? As for your recent dx of PVC's, how often do you experince them and what are you currently taking for meds?
