PVCs in waves?

Alright, so for the past three weeks I have been getting waves of palpitations. When they come, they last for a minute or two, and I typically get 5-10 palpitations a minute. Sometimes, however, this wave can last for an hour, but this only seems to happen at night. I've been dealing with heavy anxiety since they started, and I don't know if this is just a cycle of anxiety induced palpitations. I went to the doctor and they did a blood test, EKG, and ECG, everything coming back normal. I also did a halter monitor for 24 hours, and was told i had PVCs. Basically, I was just wondering if it is normal to have PVCs come in waves with a  frequency of 5-10 a minute?

I too get those. I was in Home Depot today and it kept doing it the whole time in there. I was getting mad at my heart waiting for it to calm it's little self down. It can make you feel a little light headed while your heart is whacking out, as I call it.  But I too have done all the tests and got it on monitors and all is OK. I know what you mean about the anxiety. I have syncope also and it scares the crap out of me and I will have anxiety the whole net day from an episode the night before. I hate that. But you have to tell yourself that you will be OK and to stay calm. Hard I know, we all do, but as long as you know that your heart is strong and there's nothing to worry about, think of it as a nuicence and just slow down a little or lay down and it will pass. Take care

I get these too. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often, but it does happen. In fact, my very first experience of PVCs was something very similar to what you describe. I felt my heart skip a beat, then a few seconds later, it skipped another beat. And then another, and another, so on for 5-10 minutes. At that time, I didn't know what was going on, and I was TERRIFIED. I was certain I was going to die. Since then, I have had my irregular heartbeats captured on a Holter monitor, and had numerous other tests done, and have been reassured that I am FINE. Messed up heartbeats happen, but in a healthy heart they are really nothing to worry about. As long as you're not feeling any other symptoms when they occur, then you just have to believe that your heart is in the mood to act a little crazy, but is still going strong as ever. Talk to your doctor if you need more reassurance, but please, don't get too stressed about this. Take care and stay healthy!!

It is not uncommon to have the types of pvc activity you have.  I get them like that especially after I eat or work out hard.  I would say take a look at your dinner and see if it is high in gas forming foods or sugars.  The stomach as well as stress have a high chance of provoking ectopic beats.  I know it is very scary and distracting to have the pvcs but they truly do believe they are harmless in a healthy heart so just do your best to work on your stress and any stomach issues you may have and then just try to ignore them.  I know easier said then done but they really are only a threat if your heart isn't healthy which it sounds like yours is healthy so though you may never know why exactly yours started flaring off if your heart is structurally fine you really don't have anything to worry about.  But do go back to the doctor if the symptoms get worse.  Take care.
