This is very interesting to me. Last year, I had endured nearly 6 months of off an on PVC's. I had become ill with a winter respiratory infection and went to my PCP who prescribed azithromycin. The Z-Pak nailed in the infection but at the same time, my PVC's vanished. I mentioned this to my PCP on a followup visit, and he claims there is no connection.
Of the few times I have needed antibiotics (strep throat and tooth pulled) I have been prescribed a zpack. I have never had any problems with it.
Thanks for your perspective.....and letting me know about my typo (keg). This was the first time seeing this doc. We had to switch to Kaiser....so he never saw my EKG (when I typed EKG in lower case the spell checker changed it to keg....interesting).
I have been taking the medication for 2 days now and I am feeling ok....so I think I will be fine. Thanks for your support. Appreciate it!
I understand you to say "EKG" baseline... I do typos myself, just read some of my other posts if you can : ) Well, to your question: I also understand your doctor knows your health history, thus the EKG, and believes the medication is safe. It is my guess that the "prolonged QT" is just a possibility and passes when the medication is stopped.
As with all medication one has to walk that "narrow line" of being sensitive to how they feel/symptoms while not thinking their way into symptoms that are mental driven.
