SVT

I am a 23 year old male in good shape and developed SVT.  After using medication to control it for a year the meds quit working.  I had the oblation procedure about 6 weeks ago which they believe was successful.  But, when I exercise I still get chest pain.  I run on a treadmill and within 5 minutes the pain starts.  What could be causing this?  I don't think it is muscular skeletal because I can swing a golf club, baseball bat with no pain.  But once my heart rate goes up with exercise, the pain starts.  Any ideas?  Any suggestions of tests that should be done?
Thanks.

It is a sharp sort of stabbing pain.  I got this prior to the oblation but the drs seem to blow it offa s the muscularskeletal..I am sure it is not.  Very frustrating.  Have you heard of anyone having this before?

Hello...

First, congrats on your successful ablation of SVT. Healing time of the lesions, from the radiofrequency application in your heart, can take a good 3 months. How would you describe this chest pain? Is it dull, tight, stabbing, burning etc.

Have you had your post ablation appt with the EP Dr who performed your procedure? If you have had the appt already, than you may want to make a phone call to the Dr's office if this persists. It is probably nothing that is too concerning, but it's always best to err on the side of caution:)

Best of luck and keep us posted with oyur outcome!
