Should I worry about this rhythm?

Hello.  Yesterday I went and helped a young nursing student( a single mom) clean her house.  Before we left she asked if she could listen to my 8 yr. old's heart, to see if she could hear her heart murmur.  Afterwards, she asked me if I would like to listen.  While telling her I wasn't good at that kind of thing, my 8 yr. old walked out and the nursing student handed me her stethescope.  I decided to see is I could hear my own beat clearly.  I handed it back to her, after deciding that I'm just not good at it.  I told her I lost the rhythm whenever I breathed and heard something else.  She asked to listen and said she thought I had odd beats going on.  She heard the same thing I had heard.  It was something like- lub dub, lub dub, then a real quick dub, dub, dub while I was breathing( don't know if it was during an inhale or exhale). We listened for a few minutes and it stayed consistant.  I'm a 34 yr. old female.  I was tired when we listened and today I'm tired and my chest feels heavy and tired.  This happens normally after a demanding day.  I have 5 children and she has 4, so we were tackling a lot that day.   I don't have insurance and don't go to the doctor unless it can't be helped.  Is this heart rhythm something I should worry about?

I'm not a doctor but what you are describing sounds like a normal sinus rythym.  I can't remember what it is called but some people have that when they breathe in and out.  When you breathe in your heart rate speeds up and when you breathe out it slows down.
Has your chest ever felt heavy and tired before yesterday?  If not, they that is probably anxiety over what happenned.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, however, I think I would get it checked by a doctor. It may just be muscle strain, but, when it involves any kind of pain in the chest area, I always say it is better to be safe than sorry.

As to the beats, those sound like they could be PVC's and they are pretty common, you will find lots of info on them through the folks in this forum, we are all PVC'ers'. In a structurally normal heart, they usually are benign.

Hope this helps, and if you are interested in learning more about PVC's read others posts and also do a google on them, there is a wealth of info there.
