What does "flutter feeling" mean?

When I hear people talk about their PVCs, they say fluttery feeling. When I talk about flutter feeling, I mean it feels like there's a butterfly in my chest and throat and it's wings are brushing against the walls making me want to cough. But I've read that "flutter" just means you feel like your heart is beating fast. Which is it?

I use to feel that when I still had my svt.  After an episode my heart would be irritated and be a bit elevated and likely throwing off a bunch of pacs.  I don't get it so much anymore now that I don't have the super fast episodes of svt stressing out my heart.  But keep in mind flutter is a feeling and people can attribute the feeling to any number of things going on so it is really just descriptive of the sensation and not specifically what is going on.  This is not to be confused with Atrial Flutter which is an arrhythmia of the atria.  Not sure how it feels because I haven't been diagnosed as having it. But I am sure simple sinus tachycardia as well as a high volume of pacs can feel like a fluttering.  I would not doubt that afib might feel like it as well if it isn't accompanied by too fast a beat but I can't attest to it since I haven't had afib myself.
