Hi read your post......i completely understand your frustration and if the meds aren't working they need to put you on something that is tried and true and is safe during your pregnancy.  Generally beta blockers which you are on just calm the heart, relax it so it doesn't have to work as hard and blocks the adrenaline that causes the heart to act up so if anything i would think it would be safe during pregnancy but just to be safe i would google out the meds and listed side effects to make you feel a little more at ease with this situation.  Have the docs said anything to you on whether or not you are a candidate for an EP mapping or ablation as your cure?  If not i would talk to them about it because for many of us it was a cure....good luck and we are here if you need us....just as we know you are here for us.....have a happy week.......

Hi i read your post and only want to remind you not to stop any heart med suddenly so that you don't have a rebound effect.  You need to converse with your heart doc on his/her plan that they have to gradually decrease the dosage until you are clear of the meds.  Rebounds can cause up to 4X the symtoms if you suddenly stop any heart med....i question along with Jerry as to why you want off of the meds...if it is because you aren't really experiencing any symtoms any longer is could be that the meds are doing its job and that is why...if that is the case don't be fooled into thinking that you don't need them because the situation may be that this is why you are not....your meds...good luck and have a great weekend.....

It would help if you told us why you want to stop taking metoprolol .  Are you troubled by side-effects?

I believe if one has benign pvc symptoms and they find those symptoms better than the side effects of a medication, the doctor would support a decision to stop taking the medication.  I believe metoprolol is capable only of reducing pvc symptoms, it does not cure them.
