aortic root dialated and pac's

Hopefully I have this posted in the right area....I had an echo done after a holter and have been diagnosed with a dialiated aortic root of 4.0.  I have been having constant problems with pvc's and pac's since I was 20, but mainly pvc's.  But lately, I have been having them everyday and very often for 2 1/2 months and these are now mainly pac's according to holter.

I had a holter which detected frequent pac's, not sure on the #.  Is there any coorelation between a dialted aortic root and pac's.  What is strange is that when I drink caffiene, the pac's seem to dissapear...could the caffiene actually constrict the aorta, relieving the pac's...I know it sounds strange but am trying to figure out what is going on...Iam very worried, especially with this "new" dialted aortic root along with constant pac's.

Thanks

Hi. Medicine is mysterious isn't it? I know that I do better with a little caffeine too. I think it has to do with the fact that my mood is a lot better when I have a small amount of caffeine.

My suggestion though would be to ask your doctor this question. If there is a correlation, it may or may not have true importance. (On the other hand, it may be very important for you to be on beta blockers, even if you think you feel better without them).

regards, bromley

I would also like to add when I take beta blockers, it makes my pac's much worse...just very strange...it seems it would be the opposite, caffiene worse, beta blockers better.
