bradycardia-underlying cause???

My husband, 35 and really healthy, experienced bradycardia 2 years ago, with a heart rate at 39.  He had all the testing done, saw several cardiologists, who advised him to get a pacemaker.  He felt that was not the right option for him, and after about 5 months, it just got better on its own.  Now, 2 years later, he went to the ER with a heart rate of 39.  I think he has sick-sinus syndrome, but he refuses to believe that and is sure his low heart rate is due to some unknown problem and wants to figure out what that is.  He is going to have more testing done, but until then, ANY IDEAS???  It is so frustrating to only hear that there is nothing wrong with you and all you need is a pacemaker.  He exercises all the time and is really healthy, a university professor, who loves what he does, but is so exhausted he can't do anything!!!  Please give us any leads you can possibly think of.  He is looking for a "House" doctor at this point.
thanks

My husband has sick sinus syndrome. He went from healthy to flat and no energy at all. He received a pacemaker to help with the pacing and had ablation for atrialflutter and takes a beta blocker to help with the pvc's etc. We still have questions as to why etc, with no answers, hes had millions of tests. Hope this helps

Im experiencing the same thing right now.  I have the Post Post Partum BPM 45.  When I was in the ER they had no answers either but the doctor did ask me to check my thyroid and said that I might have some nerve damage from the delievery.  However,  my husbands brother is 35 and experienced the same thing as your husband.  He is really fit and suddenly had no energy to do anything and was really sick all the time.  He rides mountain bike all the time and didnt ride for months because he had no energy.  This went on for about a year.  He has no previous health issues.  He went to many doctors and had no answers.  They did all sorts of tests and even tests on his Thyroid.  All came back fine.  Then he found a different doc who did a special test on his Thyroid and found out that he has Hashimoto Disorder.  Im not sure if I spelled it right.  After they started treating him his health got so much better.  Now he is back to his old self again and in even better shape.
