Extreme back pain associated with dizziness, irregular heartbeat, breathing issues, and discoordination.

I have a friend who has what he calls 'attacks', in which he will begin having breathing issues, and progress to severe back and chest pain and difficulty breathing. He has a history of scoliosis, and the right side of his chest sticks out a little bit. If he puts pressure on it, the chest pain is temporarily releived. During these attacks, he cannot stand or really even move by himself, and has often passed out. His heartbeat is also incredibly irratic, almost as if he has been excercising for an extended period of time. I may have been being paranoid, but I thought that he had blue veins around his eyelids the last time it happened. He doesn't want to consult a physician, but I am extremely concerned. Please help if you can.

passing out, on top of all the other signs, would seem to be a big red flag.

Your advice is the correct advice, he needs to see a doctor.

I have no specific knowledge about scoliosis, perhaps you should try a search to find information on that to learn what the side-effects and symptoms are to see if you can get a match.
