Yes, my GERD can get really bad and sometime it does have an effect on my PVC's. I don't take my achipex anymore but I am not suffering with heart burn as badly as I used to. I have a bad gallbladder, but I have never heard anyone link that to PVC's. Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could find a reason :-)
I do the breathing routine often. And I am sure it will come in handy when I have to fly.
Thanks so much for the response.
Hi and I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. I have finally come to the conclusion that mine are caused by GERD and when I get that under control, they mostly go away. When I used to have my period, I would get them every month like clockwork and then they would abate.....unless I started getting reflux or heartburn. I know how hard it is to try and stay calm when they're happening because they feel so weird. Try and slow your breathing down and get yourself calm if you can.
I too have a fear of flying and had to fly last week for business for an overnight trip. The day before the flight, my goodness I was having hundreds of PVC's that day. They were relentless. I had high anxiety (which the PVC's only add to) and lots of reflux. The next day when I flew voila! the PVC's disappeared. Still haven't had one since last Tuesday, knock wood. But, my GERD is under control again with Nexium twice a day.
So yes, anxiety can make them worse. Hormones can exacerbate them. Lots of things. Just remember there are other people in the world who have felt exactly what you're feeling. I read a statistic last week before I flew that there's a 1 in 7,000,000 chance that something is going to happen to you on an airplane. Its the safest way of travel on the planet. Try to trust that the pilot knows what he's doing, the mechanics know what they're doing, and that you're going to be just fine. I have to deep breathe through every take off and keep myself calmed down the whole time I'm in the air but everytime I've ever flown and feared that something horrible was going to happen, nothing ever did. When I get really fearful, I try to remember this acronym - FEAR is false evidence appearing real. Its just mind chatter and we need to shut it out. Takes some work but it can be done.
Hang in there and I'm just sure you're going to be just fine and the flight will be uneventful.
