Hi quinncol just want you to know you are not alone. I was dx with HOCM back in 1985 got my first ICD implanted in 1991. I have been in diastolic heart failure for a good many years now. If you want to talk just drop me a email in this site.
I just read a summary of HOCM and am very sad to read of this severe heart condition that affects people of all ages.
You didn't mention a heart transplant. I know it is very difficult to find an available match plus all the other difficulties, including cost. Would that be a possible solution? Here I assume HOCM would not simply be reintroduced into the replacement organ by the receiving body.
My strongest sympathy and hope that something will be discovered to reverse the condition.
