I understand anxiety quite a bit.  I never had anxiety or panic problems until my first svt attack.
Anxiety can make me feel all sorts of things like you describe. Face pale, tingling feeling in limbs, cold, shaky, light headed, stomach butterflies that feel like they are going up into my heart... Breathing issues....

I have been seeing a counselor for that and now am understanding the difference between my heart issues and anxiety.

I feel anxious a lot because I am waiting for my ablation to come, just got bumped back to March 16. Plus, I am having uncomfortable side effects from anti arrythmia medicine and beta blocker, and ETC. I am kinda miserable most of the time. Unless I distract myself.

I have learned there is appropriate anxiety and inappropriate anxiety.
Its perfectly normal to be anxious bf a surgery. Or, take a test, etc..
But "not normal" to be afraid to drive.  I was scared to drive since having SVT attack in car and going off road :(
I had to "deal" with that anxiety and am doing much better!

When we have anxiety we tend to hyper focus on everything the body does, every blip, little pain, muscle stiffness etc.  What was that?!!?
I know from EXPERIENCE...

They all add on top of each other and make everything worse.  It compounds.

Some things that help me are:

-Change the activity I am doing.  Get up, do something different or take a break if needed.  Sit down.  Take a walk.  Do the dishes....
-Call someone who loves me.  Support.  This forum.
- Eat something you like thats nutritious.  Don't skip a meal.
-Find an activity that you like that distracts you.  For me its Yoga.
-This is an odd one, but a strong cough drop REALLY helps me.  Maybe the sensation from the menthol makes me forget about it?  Not sure but they work.  Makes me feel like I can breathe better.  (I dont have any breathing issues though)  TRY THIS its cheap!  : )
- Try not to go over everything over and over again in your mind.

Like some of the wonderful veteran posters say here, "Try not to worry" it makes it worse.  They are right.

I wish you the best as you learn to " ignore" your anxiety monster, and heal from your ablation.  I hope it proves to be a success as most are!

You are lucky to be post ablation, bud!

Kim

Yes, anxiety can make your heart do weird things.  I am not sure anything related to the heart would cause your nose to become congested.  There are all sorts of reasons for your nose to get congested from allergies to dry or humid air or a deviated septum.  See your GP if you think this is something new that won't go away.  Have you been back to your cardiologist for your ablation followup?  I went after 3 months and you are about 3 months out.  When did you have the monitor?  Have you gotten the results from that yet?  I guess the best advice I can give you is the odds of anything happening to you due to a continuing svt problem or ectopic beats or even anxiety are very very minimal so try to take some deep breaths and tell yourself that you will get through whatever is going on when things are acting up.  If what is going on is anxiety your symptoms should subside as you relax.  If you still feel a lot of symptoms despite being relaxed then you may have something that needs to be addressed but there is a lot with the heart that we all just have to learn to deal with, ectopic beats especially.  I am not sure what is happening with you and hopefully you will have some answers from your doctor and the monitor but I am sure whatever it is, is nothing to stress too much over.  So hang in there and maybe get a humidifier if you are living in a cold climate where the air is dry this time of year.  It is possible having a stuffy nose can be partly why your heart is beating a bit fast and weird right now.  It may be trying to over compensate for the stuffiness trying to pull more oxygen in through your congested nose.  People do tend to have more heart issues when they have colds and allergies.  Even cold medicines can cause the heart to act up.  So maybe really see what you can do about clearing up the nose and maybe your heart will calm down with it.  Take care.

Try some antacids and see if that helps.  If it does then go see your doctor about possible stomach issues.  Stomach issues will cause some weird heart beats to happen.  The vagus nerve gets irritated and causes signals to get sent off to the heart making it act up.

If you recorded this on your event monitor the cardiologist will be able to tell you what is going on.  It sounds a little to me that your svt may not be totally cured but if you ever feel as though you are going to die then just go to the er.  There are all sorts of weird symptoms that happen related to people with heart rhythm issues.  There are many who feel the same as you, for some I do believe it is anxiety.  But just keep on top of it.  I am sure the cardiologist will eventually get everything worked out with you.  Try to stay calm because stressing will make it worse.  Take care.

The event recorder, if you hit the button right as you feel the symptoms, will catch what was happening right as the event started because it is always recording a little bit all the time so when you hit the button it has information from a maybe 30 seconds or so before you hit the button.  This should give your cardiologist a picture of what your heart just did even if you sense that the weirdness stopped by the time you hit the button.  I can't diagnose you because I am not a doctor but if what you are feeling happens in a fleeting second and goes away you are likely having pvcs or pacs.  They are extra beats arising from different areas of your heart.  They are of no danger to you so long as your heart is structurally fine and from what I remember from your other post your heart is generally healthy.  So it is possible that you feel this extra beat and your anxiety kicks in a bit causing your heart to start beating a bit fast.  There, is of course, a possibility that your svt isn't completely resolved as well but if that is the case a second ablation usually does the trick.  But if you sent in information/recordings from your 3 week monitor your doctor should have enough to go on to let you know what is happening but I am sure it isn't anything to worry about.  Hang in there, if you are not short of breath, dizzy or passing out your are in good shape.  Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.

constantly getting palpitations too.. idk if what im feeling is anxiety or what..?  because the whole weird feeling i get in the heart area doesnt seem like anxiety. i wore a heart monitor for 3 weeks too. when i got that feeling i could only record the after affects of it because its not a constant 24 hour rcording device. its only when i press the button. so is it possible that there is something wrong with me and the none of the tests i have done showed anything or am i just having serious anxiety..? someone please respond
