pacemaker removal

I have recently gotten a medtronic pacemaker installed during the beginning of April. I've only had it for three months, and the leads are not fully attached yet. Is there any way that I could have it removed? Both the generator and the leads?

Why do you want the pacemaker removed?
I have a pacer, and agree with ireneo, pacemaker (generator) removal is pretty straight-forward, but removing the leads would like pulling a fishhook out of your heart muscle.

It's possible but it's also a delicate procedure. Changing out the unit when the battery is low is pretty straight forward. But removing the leads is not. They aren't something that can be tugged out like removing a grape stem.

This is something to discuss with your cardiologist, express your concerns, fears. There must be a reason why the pacemaker was put in.
