please help....

hey guys,

im new to this forum but have been having problems these last three nights.  i have not been diagnosed with anxiety, but i am 100% sure that i have it when it comes to my health.  the last couple of nights i have been awakened by shortness or breath.  when i tend to focus on it, it becomes alot worse.  i start to worry if it could be my heart or if it is just anxiety.  i had my blood pressure taken and it was 126/81, which is pretty normal from what i can understand and my pulse was around 62.  what do these numbers exactly tell you and would this go to show that there is nothing wrong with my heart and that it is all in my head?  what are the warning signs that i should be aware of?

Okay i;'ll bite...i guess i know what you love to eat LOL.....welcome to the community....you have to remember if you have no other symtoms that you are probably good to go.  Try to remember that during our sleep and REM that our bodies react physically to what we are dreaming even if we don't remember the dream.  Your vitals like Jerry said are pretty great so there you can relax...and its normal for any of us that when we become a little short of breath and concentrate on it it becomes more pronounced.  What alot of people do to regulate their breathing is to take a paper bag (sandwich size) and close off most of the top of it and breathe in and out into it.   It will usually regulate your breathing and you may be surprised at how fast it works.  You really haven';t decribed anything having to do w. the heart other than the shortness of breath and it could be absolutely anything from a to z.  If it keeps up i would probably call my doc so that he/she can have you come in so that they can take a listen to your lungs and make sure you don't have a little infection going on...i really wouldn't worry too much unless something else pops up w. this....good luck to you and i wish my pulse and b/p were as great as yours....lucky lucky you......

The numbers are good, but they do not provide a complete measure of you heart's health.  Still, with the good numbers you have and if you pulse seems regular...check at rest. That is the 62 number is from a very regular beat/beat/beat... not beat/...beat/beat/.beat..and so on for example.

Be careful, one's mind can cause an irregular beat in some people.
