Remember that after an ablation that it can take months for your heart to get back into its normal pattern of beating.  MVP is a very common afliction in the human race 25 to 30 percent of all of us have it.  I don't know much about pacemakers but i would talk to my doc because it seems to me that the pacemakers job is to regulate your heart beat so he/she may need to re-set it....a simple thing non invasive.  Give the ablation a little more time i know it took me a few months for the rapid pulse thing to stop happening after running to my heart doc telling him i was dying.....he said that many times after an ablation we have what is called "Ghost Fib" thinking we have it happening all over again and it actually isn't.  The failure rate w. an ablation is def. low but he said if they don't get everything it will rear its head again generally w/in 6 months so i would make the call. It may be absolutely nothing but heck you've made it to 85 i myself would love to see you on this site when you hit 100...............call your doc....................

You didn't mention how long the rate lasted. Heart rates can rise from different causes: pain, illness, activity of course. In my case, if I drink alcohol (1/2 beer) awhile later my rate will rise and heart will pound. I just have to wait it out. The smarter thing to do is not drink at all but a couple times a year I do like to split a beer with my husband.

You doctor thought it was just sinus tachy. Were you able to find any pattern to the tachy times? And does your pacemaker record events? I know some folks have their device interrogated occasionally to see what's been going on.
