Spike in BP 'Racing Pulse

I have had great BP for years 117/72.  Recently its started to move up (~2-3 mos ago) 137/94.  I had a sudden spike the other night of 147/105. Then added on a panic attack and rose to 153/111.  I have been waking up feeling like someone kicked me in the right side of my chest. I do have reflux, I was thinking it was that. Right side of esophagus and under my right breast.  I am on Luo Bu Ma right now. It keeps the BP at bay but it makes me feel a bit loopy.  Any ideas?

Hi.  If it is safe for you to do (see your doctor about this first), one thing that helps blood pressure is regular aerobic exercise.  I have never heard of that medicine you are taking, but there seems to be plenty of material on the internet. About how long have you been taking it, and roughly when did your problems start?

Best of luck.

I am 46, They tell me hormones. My calorie intake is around 900-1200/day and I try to at least walk a mile a day during the week. I Chinese herbs are helping , its just weird. I have had it spike from illness or pain.  I have 3 herniated discs in my neck. Just scary.

Have you had a change in your diet or a reduction in working out? Any change in medication?  Does HBP run in your family?

There could be a simple answer or else it could just be part of the "getting older" process... lol I hate that thought :)
