late breaking news i was told that that the monitor caught a touch of A FIB
YIKES I'M SCARED 2 DEATH i go see my dr on friday
what can i expect from a fib
be honest am i doomed?
can it ever go away ?
sorry, I just re-read your post-somehow I missed the 30 day recorder
Wow, I never knew so many people had sleep apnea!
Chevy man -I would insist on a 30 day event recorder to just feel better about the whole thing. You feel the symptom, press the button and go call it in and play it back for them. They will tell you if it was related to your heart. At least with a 30 day you can call in every odd thing you feel.
update
thanks for all the comments as of lately i still have been waking up with rapid heart rates and now its happening while i'm awake i have had 2 episodes where while i was wide awake my heart rate would just jump up.
it will go up to 120 or higher for about 30sec to a min then return to normal during this i have a strange sensation in my right shoulder kinda warm like and like a thin film of sweat on the forehead i went to the er twice and i have a monitor now. the watched me in the er and sent me home. any ideas?
For Dr. Park's info - go to the sleep disorders forum or the sleep apnea forum -
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Sleep-Apnea/show/305 his website is listed there if this link doesn't show up: http://doctorstevenpark.com
he has quite a few web seminars like this one coming up: Expert Interview: Dr. Raymond Silkman, Holistic Dentist
What site are you talking about with Dr. Park and the exercises? I have sleep apnea too and the cpap didn't work for me. Can't tolerate it, had a hard time with the masks and would wake up in the night having panic attacks.
I think part of the reason my osa got better is because my pvc's did lessen with my ablation, then they returned..another reason is I did a sleep seminar with Dr Park here and found out alot about my sleep patterns/habits; I wish I could tolerate the CPAP - it's scarey to think you can die in your sleep if your oxygen goes too low.
He has some deep breathing exercises on his site that I use daily and it helps; he explains it but basically you breathe in for 10 sec as slow as you can then exhale the same amount; paying attention to how you breathe - in through the nose with your mouth closed and exhale only through your mouth - it's supposed to do something with the oxygen in your body and seems to have helped me and others who have tried it.
"yes on the apnea and i have a cpap"
This sounds good, but are you using it? If you are, does your bed partner report that you still snore or stop breathing at night? Settings often change. and what was good for you at the time of your sleep study may no longer work. I'm pressing in this direction because your symptoms are screaming, Sleep Apnea!!!
Just a quick one here. I have had these symptoms SEVERAL times over the years. It usually happens when something triggers intense anxiety. You don't even know that is what you are experiencing. You get physically exhausted from the stress and still can't put your finger on it except that you feel horrible. Mine can linger for up to a few weeks....then when I don't realize it, all symptoms have mostly gone away and I am myself. Even my extremely healthy husband gets the symptoms you talk about. I am off to vacation, but are you taking any meds that may contribute? Like for your breathing?
Tom_h I tried several different masks, none worked for me so I just gave up; so much to take care of and that's on the list =)
A weird thing happened - when I put the mask on, within a minute, it put me in VT and I fainted...twice, so they said forget it. They told me I needed to talk to the dr...who said I needed to have surgery to correct something in my sinus area? that was too narrow - I just haven't taken that step yet.
The past year or so it's improved (since ablation) but I still have episodes that are severe luckily not many =)
It's good to hear yours works for you, I'll remember that in case I have any questions when I go back to the dr.
What pressure is your CPAP set at, Lisa? My OSA was so severe, I developed secondary polycythemia (excessive red blood cells) from spending hours at low O2 levels. I was very fortunate in that it only took a pressure of only 7cm H2O to correct the OSA. "7" is a piece of cake to adapt to. I've been 100% compliant since 2007 when I got on it. I even took with me to my EP procedure, but I didn't need it.
ahhh that could be the cause then; have you asked your dr about it and explained what's going on?
I'm 1 pt from being in the severe OSA group, OX got down to 73% at night but I can't tolerate the cpap; how is it working for you? You may want to go to the sleep disorder section and talk to Dr. Park or send him a message on his website; he's given me some great advice.
yes on the apnea and i have a cpap
have you had a sleep study done for sleep apnea?
I have OSA and this sometimes happens but my HR will be up to 125, I think the weird feeling is from oxygen not getting to the brain or other parts of the body.
Did u have ur thyroid check? abnormal thyroid level can sometimes cause tachycardia .
i keep having these strange sensations when i'm sleep that wake me from my sleep and sometimes i awake with a rapid heart rate
Sounds like you've had every test possible and everything is OK dude. The symptoms you mentioned aren't that big of a deal. I'm sensing that maybe you are a bit depressed about this?
If there are any lifestyle changes you think you should make, (ex., exercise more, eat better, stop smoking, go out with your friends more), do it. This can really help with your outlook on the situation.
i have been having symptoms for a while chest pain since 06
I'm not reading anything very cornering in your post. Waking up at 115 isn't a big deal at all. It might be new to you but it could could be much much worse.
Why did you have to get all those tests done?
