Labs

Just an update had my 2nd set of labs Tuesday and see my doc on Friday. My doctor does my labs every 4 weeks is that normal i hear some people memtion that they have them every 2 weeks? Also, i hear alot of people mentioning their ALT and AST levels and i am floored by how low they are my are extremely high AlT when i started was 360 and AST 330 does that mean my liver was more taxed? Well, anyway will be up dating tommorrow with my blood test and hope that my VL has gone down from my 1st month of treatment. I am a Geno 1a my VL was 1,450,000 before starting 222,000 after first month of treatment, i am praying for at least a drop of 1 log but will be ever so happy if 2 log drop. Wish me luck  Effie
I pray and wish good luck for everyone who's fighting the good fight to eradicate this Virus

My liver enzymes were in the mid-200s before I started out on treatment and by week 4 they went straight down to the 20s.  A liver enzyme is released whenever a liver cell dies...so the higher the number usually the more liver death that is occurring. 300s are very high but we have seen higher - don't worry too much about things like that that you can't really do anything about...they should go way way down as soon as you wipe out the virus that is doing all the destroying.

Let's hope you are UND at week 4 - forget talking about a 1 log drop...let's say kill them ALL!  :)

Every 4 weeks is perfectly fine for testing in fact I don't really think that many people get labs done every 2 weeks........that is uncommon because of the insurance companies.
