on tenofovir for 7months

Sent by nic2012 less than a minute
Hi stef2011, I am a new member of the group. for the past two weeks i have learnt a lot about H B that am no longer afraid of the virus. I got HB in 2001. I have been taking tenofovir for 7 months. Sometimes i feel iches or pain below my ribs.My Dr said it is because of the medications. I get my drugs from my home country because it is cheaper. Why problem is that I have a box of tenofovir that expired in april 2012. am afraid my next supply will reach me after two months. I want to know if i can still take the expired tenoforvir in June else i will have to stop and wait till i get the next supply. I don't want to discontinue my treament. I actually started taking viread in 2010 but stopped four months later due to lack of supply. Can i take the expired drug? I want to take till i get to UND then i will add interfron and then add nitazonnide.

Thanks for your reply,I will take the expired drugs. I read somewhere that nearly all anti-viral drugs are still effective even after the expiring date. The expiring date shows they have no guarantee that it is still effective and also they are forced by the FDA . No response yet from the drug marker. I am feeling more pain below my ribs. When i was not on medication, no pain at all.

If I were you, I would take the expired pills.  1 or 2 months past the expiration date is not that big a deal.  Besides, it's better than stopping the medication for 2 months

Just my opinion.
