My doctor said my viral load is low, therefore does not require treatment. Can you please tell me how contagious I am and what is my viral load said?
Hello and hope you are doing well.
A hep B carrier can pass the virus on to others. It is important to vaccinate close contacts especially babies and children .are vaccinated. You are at a greater risk for
developing serious liver complications like cirrhosis and liver cancer. You should be in touch with a hepatologist, get regular check-ups, and take good care of your liver. There are treatments and drugs which can help chronic hepatitis B carriers. Contact an experienced liver specialist. It is best to disclose it to your employer so that precautions for spread of infection can be taken. Discuss it with your family doctor and then take the decision. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
