4 weeks EOT Sovaldi + Simep + Riba

I went for a 4 week EOT HCV RNA test after completing 12 weeks of Sovaldi + Simeprevir + Ribavirin.
Good news:  undetectable!!  My doctor says that in his experience on this combo, 4 weeks corresponds pretty well with 12 weeks EOT results, so I am hopeful.
He also told me that he had presented my particular case at a conference he attended regarding Janssens's simeprevir. The issue had to do with my developing an elevated total bilirubin (to 6.3) and slight rash on my torso shortly after starting treatment. Rash went away, bilirubin came down but stayed about 3.0 throughout.  Now back to normal!
Anyway, thought I would share my good news with you all.
Mark

Really great news to hear Mark! That was the right combo for you :-)
Despite the rash and elevated billi the virus was defeated and that's all that matters! Glad to hear that otherwise your tx went so well this time around, yay!
I'm guessing that since your doc presented this at a conference that this has not been commonly seen. Let us hear if there is any other feedback on any other cases or anything else new on that topic.

Man you're on your way to SVR! :-)))))

I have not started tx yet - I aspire to your result.  Congratulations.  You are a poster child on the conference circuit.  I may not be prescribed Ribi since I have some RBC and platelets issues.  I hope that wont hold me back from SVR.  The three combo worked well for you.  What is your genotype?

Hi Zarmar. Results with or without Riba on this combo are supposed to be almost the same, so I think it's not an issue. My GT is 1a; I failed 4 prior tx attempts.  Best to you when you start treatment!

Congratulations, Mark. I know this must be particularly sweet given that you failed 4 prior treatment attempts.  I can't imagine what that must have been like for you.  SVR is just around the corner...that's great!
