I must concur with Kim. My liver doc had me taking a Cipro once a week as a prophylactic against infection (I have liver disease and infection is quite dangerous if you have a bleed out) but I did some research on the drug and it's nasty stuff!
I told my doctor what I had found in my research and he said - oh, OK, stop taking that

Good luck. Hope you are feeling better soon
I'd do another lab just to make sure, Sometimes either mistakes are made in the lab or ????? Anyway, that would be my first course of action.
Good luck.
Sorry that you are having problems. The antibiotic Cipro will cause an elevation for some in their liver enzymes. Google Cipro and liver disease and you will find a multitude of data on liver disease and this antibiotic. Have read in the past where others have had issues with this drug regarding their liver. Was suggested that I take Cipro for a UTI, and after further investigation of Cipro decided to opt for another Tx. Just reread some of the info on this drug, and it stated it stays in your system approx 4 weeks after the final dose and to retest your enzymes again at that time.
I doubt the elevation that your seeing is a result of reemerging Hep C. Only your Dr tho can tell you that for sure.
Personally I would in the future stay away from this drug if there are other options. Came across a former post from an individual with liver disease whom became decompensated as a result of this drug. Have no source for you to refer to as I saw this a few months back, but remember all the Red Flags stood up when Cipro was mentioned.
Am not a Dr but you may want to address any ongoing issues with him.
Good Luck
.....Kim
You might want to take the time to post in the "Allergy" forum. There is lots
of references to the possible causes of SGPT. You will see that that it can be viral infection but there are many other causes. I was surprised to read
how many. I would be looking at other things like medication, diet, etc.
I posted the first link about by mistake. But I do think it would be a good idea
for you to get a list together of questions for your doctor. There is an answer
to why you have high SGPT. But I wouldn't be so focused as Hepatitis C
being the cause. It could just be the medication you were taking was taxing your liver.
Best to you and hope this is helpful
