11th shot itches gone???

As I looked at SE the last few weeks, all I really had was fatigue n achy stuff. No itches for a few days! I had a bladder infection n the fever is gone for the most part.
I leave my house at 7 and get home about 6all week.  I posted on the exercise post, but I think napping all weekend is due. 2 more weeks of Telaprevir. I'm feeling pretty darn good about tx again. I had a few weeks of hell.
I think it gives me relief to know I wont be living alone.
It helps to sort it out w you guys. Your tips n inspiration have been a blessing. Xo Karen

I am in the middle of week 11 and this week so far seems to be the worst ever! I work full time but am lucky enough to have a job that will let me work from home if needed and that's exactly what I did today. I take folic acid to help with my HGB and so far it hasn't gone below 10.0. My 12 week ends Oct, 5 and I am just counting them down.

Karen,
I wonder about the cirrhosis thing too. I found out I had cirrhosis when I was 28 after my second biopsy. The doctor always says they can't even figure it out, no rhyme or reason as to why I would already be chirrotic when I have always lived a pretty healthy lifestyle (except for that love affair with ice cream!). I always joke and say this is the black cloud I call my life, but I still believe all clouds have silver linings even the dark ones! Glad to hear you are doing well.

I've thought the same thing. I'm the girl who had a wheat grinder n made my own bread. I've been hooked a juicing veggies for over 20 years. Mine went to cirrhosis after I turned 53. Out of the blue. I don't think I could have done anything different before, or during tx to improve sx. Dr said 20% or less get cirrhosis. Don't know why...
Looking back, even the worst sx were nothing compared to those 2 UND! Righto? Karen :)

Hi, I just started taking my triple meds today. So far I am doing okay. I feel a little bit spaced out and tired, but so far that is all. The reason I am responding is because I take Omega 3-6-9, Vit. B Comp., Vit. D, Vit. E, and an antioxident formula. I was taking all of those before I started treatement and am continuing to take them. I hope they help so I do not have bad side effects. I am also drinking a gallon of water a day (which is a lot of water to drink). I did read about a study that was done in Israel and they found that Vitamin D improved the response to the medications.

Karen....I am wondering if some of your SX just may be  happening due to the condition of your liver, which is far worse off than mine, for example.

This is just a thought that popped into my sometimes feeble brain, but has there been any evidence of any correlation btw the two?

@ elapasolady. I see a hepatologist. Someone else on here see's the same group of dr.s and his method really seems to be working. The only rash was like I think I had posted before was from someone who didnt follow procedures. Water, vitamins, time lines for meds. Got him back on track and rash was gone in three days. Heres hoping. fingers crossed. I will follow rules and regs to the end, just dont want to be sick. Or shall I say. I will NOT be sick  :)

Ive been Diligent w nutrition n vitamins. Whey protein n fruit shakes, green defense, omega 3 n added extra D.
While I had a lot of SE, I haven't had muscle wasting and have worked full time since week 2. I use sublingual B12 in the morning for a boost too.
As long as ur dr oks it, I'd use em! I still don't have procrit. Sigh. They gave me that one shot free n I'm still appealing. My energy is low. But naps is the only solution I can use...
I winder if it will get better after Telaprevir is finished? Sure hope so.. My last labs were Friday, I can't wait to hear.. Karen:)

So happy you're feeling well. Did you get the procrit. I only have five days left of incivek and I swear it seems like the worse ever. I think it's all mental. When you know you're finally done you start to get irritable knowing just you can. Maybe it's  me, but I find that this 5 days can't go fast enough. It will be interesting to see my blood work at 12 weeks to see if it has anything to do with the feelings I'm having. Three months...... do believe we are getting there ???????

Very interesting post, mykids.  One out of 100 is very impressive, if that is totally accurate, which I'm sure it is.  What kind of Dr is he?

I, have been faithful to take my vitamins, which include the above mentioned and all I drink is water.....I have no sides.
I would like to hear from others who have no sx ( I always want to read the word, sex, when I see sx) LOL......if they are taking vitamins too.

Just wondering if any of you guys taking the incivick are also taking omega 3-6-9 my dr. seems to feel that it is the savior to the incivick. Along with vit. e and of course the gallon of water a day. Out of 100 he is treating now only one person got the rash or any sides. Just a thought. I just hope for the best. And pray every day to make it through this. Good luck to all.

I have been thinking about you.  So happy to read this post about the itchy's going away.  Can't believe you only have two more weeks left of the telaprevir.  I also can't believe I am in the middle of my 6th week. Glad time seems to be going fast.
Posts like this give me encouragement that if and when things get tougher for me, that there is an end in sight.  Day by day.
To be honest,  I'm a little afraid that if things get tough, after it has been so easy for me, that I may become this huge, whiney, wimp!  God, I hope NOT!  You, and others like you, will be front and center in my mind as a reason to keep fighting with my eyes on the prize.
I want to keep hearing postive reports from you, sista... that the nightmare is behind you.

Karen, so good to hear you're getting a lil relief after having several rough weeks.  Was hoping you would get a well deserved break soon, you deserve it.  After the 2 weeks of Tela, I hope the rest is a breeze for you.

I just woke up from a nap as I'm reading your post, so I hear you on catching up on some rest on the weekends.  Hope the additional help and all other things are going well for you.  Keep it up.  You are an inspiration.
