Anyone hear of this new treatment or study?

A friend of mine in my Hep C support group sent an email about someone he met that is starting a treatment in January with a new HCV med that is one shot a day. Is there such a trial involving one shot a day? From what I know, the PI's are taken with SOC meaning one shot a week. It must be a trial since nothing ha been approved yet, right?

Thanks,
Joey

I heard there is a trial starting in Jan. for one PILL a day.  I think the nurse at my site said it was a new protease inhibitor, probably from Schering Plough since that site has a relationship with Schering already.  Would still involve SOC.

There is an old med called Consensus Interferon (Infergen) that you take daily.  That is the only one I know of but it's not new. However for people who have failed treatment it can be a Godsend (although incredibly difficult a treatment).
