Thanks everyone for the info! Once again this site really helped me through a hard time.  I am at work awaiting for the call from my house if the package from CVS arrives.  I will post an update.

PJ....  I meant to also say that I switched GIs but I made sure I had the new on on board before I gave the old one the boot.  Make sure you dot your "i"s and cross your "t"s on this.

PJ....   YES it's possible.  Hector said it best in his post above.  I would encourage you to get a new doc.  Your current doc is NOT someone I would send my dog to given what she has said and done to you.  I'm very sorry that you have had to go through this!!

But, I have to commend you for doing what needed to be done to get the job done.  Well done!!!!!!!   Let us know the final outcome.

I switched mid-tx. My first hepatologist and his office staff were horrible. They caused me more stress than the treatment! I fear you are going through a similar situation. Just do make sure you have a replacement before you give her/him the boot. Good luck...I'm rooting for you!

Although I am a firm believer in firing de doctors who dont have our best interest @ heart...And I dont think I would keep a doctor, that I would not take my cat to (If she were sick)...You need to keep in mind, how long it takes to get a appointment with a gastro or liver, doctor. Out here I was lucky and my P.C got me an apt in 3 month's. My husband's apointment was 6 mo....  So becarefull...Dont fire your doctor untill you get in with another.....There all busy...I dont like your doctors attitude towards your situation...However, with your doctor's assistance you have come  this far ...And dont do anything drastic till you get de shot's and Riba worked out.....

Interestingly a new member who just came on says in his profile he is a gastro from Florida.I believe you are in Florida if I am not mistaken...maybe PM him and see if he could refer you to someone good in your area...just a thought?  His handle is Dennisdr1.

To repeat what I said to your last posting...

If this is your primary doc. Get a referral to see a gastroenterologist. Maybe your doc is not knowledgeable enough to know that for you not having your meds could allow the virus to come back and your 6 months of work would go down the drain. If they are familiar with treating HCV patients they will know this and will not allow this to happen.

We have all said this many times here before but one more time for those thinking about treating......
You MUST have a good trusting relationship with you doctor BEFORE starting treatment. Ask when they will stop treatment if you don't respond, will they give you helper drugs if you need them, what else will they do for you etc.

I did. Not because I didn't like the doctor, but because of location.  I also consulted with another doc, who today set up a PCR for me.

As I'm sure you know a doc at this point is really there to help you with sx, and read your blood work, order lab work....ect.

You don't need the stress of dealing with a douche for a doc !
