ALT 750 Liver cancer??

Hi

My latest bloods show very high ALT at 750. I am worried that I now have liver cancer or have cirrhosis. I had some steroids injected into my back in October which resulted in a very big flare, I was very symptomatic for about 2 weeks...all the Docs said the steroids would be fine! Anyway I am now waiting for some more in depth blood results and am booked in for biopsy next monday. I scored 3/6 Ishank score 4 years ago and my last fibro scan was 11.8 Kpl. I relapsed after TX. I have geno 2/3. I am not symptomatic at the moment but the last 2 bloods have shown these very high raised levels.

Has anyone had similar raised levels like this?

An ALT of 750 is concerning but is not indicative of cirrhosis or HCC (liver cancer)..
An ultra-sound examination would be revealing and would help rule out the possibilty of a tumour which is obviously on your mind
A fibroscan reading of 11.5kps suggests advanced fibrosis rather than a definitive cirrhosis diagnosis.
If your bilirubin, albumin and INR are normal it would mean your liver is doing it's job.
Your biopsy next week wil give you a much more accurate picture.
The flare in the ALT could well be a steriod reaction.
The main point is that you are getting the attention you need-nothing in the info you have given says cancer.
