Concussion

I suffered a pretty serious concussion yesterday aside from that tonight is shot night and I only have five shots left. I do have a call into the Dr's office right now but I'm looking for some hint of what to do in the mean time. I know that sometimes when you have a cocussion you are not supposed to take medicine but last night I did take my trazadone to sleep and my riba before bed. The only reason I post this is because I know I will have to wait all day possibly until five o'clock to hear back from the doctor so has anyone had any experience with anything like this? Oh, and no I didn't go to the hospital last night even though I should have. Today I'm obviously a bit sore and still a little confused but besides that I seem to doing well.

Most people are very reluctant to go to the hospital, including me. (My father had a minor stroke and refused to go.)

We really don't grasp the significance of swelling inside the skull. A rural Australian doctor recently had to use a handyman drill to drill a hole in the skull of an eight year old boy to release the build-up of pressure. His brain only started to swell after his mother took him to the hospital to check him out after he fell off his bike.

We're already in June! You're not trying to get out the wedding, are you? Better get your best man to keep you alive and conscious for the big day.

Look after yourself, JT. You've come so far and done so well. I wish you the very best.

xoxo

Don't know about the rx meds but I know if you truly have a concussion you should not be taking trazodone.  You really should find out what going on for sure.

Ditto what Granite said.  Probably shouldn't take chances with this injury.  Good luck!!

Sorry to hear about the concussion man! If you think you need to go see a Dr, go to a close by urgent care center.

Wow, sorry to hear you had an accident. It might be a good idea to call the 24/7 support line the manufacturer provides and talk to an RN about this; they’re trained to answer questions like this. I don’t have the numbers handy, but if you Google search either PEG-Intron or Pegasys sites, they should have some guidance. I think the site for Pegasys is called ‘Pegassist’; I’m not sure of Schering Plough. You might have to do a quick, free registration if you haven’t already signed up for it.

Take care, and hang in there,

Bill
