Cramping in feet

I am new to this but have been on Harvoni for 10 days.  My side effects have not been too bad but I am still recovering from Chemo treatment for cancer I am 3 months post chemo right now.  But I have started about 2 or 3 days ago starting cramping in my big toe causing it to pull down tights.  Hurts pretty bad and will last for a few minutes before it lessons.  Does anyone have this problem??  I do have headache not every day but every few days and it is like a bad migraine.  I am tired a little but not to bad but I am also still having side effects from the chemo so not sure what is chemo or Harvoni??

Yes, it is indeed a challenge to deal with cramping. Painful - especially in fingers or toes.

As flyinlynn said, sometimes it is difficult to say what exactly is causing the cramping but here's a few things I do:

Drink water, drink water, drink water

Eat a banana

For foot cramps, walk slowly around or bounce gently on your toes. When things loosen up a bit, you can massage your toe or foot

I use a TENS machine sometimes for both pain and cramps. It's a little, inexpensive device that delivers an electrical impulse to your muscles

Looks like this:

Hot foot bath or ice or alternate one after the other

And this sounds counterintuitive as well but exercise - even if you can only manage to walk around in the neighborhood. Although getting a walk in nature has so many other benefits besides just stretching out your muscles

Swimming is great for a gentle stretching of muscles

Good luck to you on your treatment. So sorry that you are dealing with cramping and the headaches and the fatigue but may there be SVR in your future very, very soon!

I get foot and leg and even body cramps but have had them for years due to probably the diuretic I take for edema from my cirrhosis.

For me actually I seem to have fewer cramps on Harvoni but still get them occasionally

Best to ask your doctor if your symptoms cause concern. Make sure you are hydrating enough it can help with the headachs. Cramps can also be a sign of mild dehydration

Good luck on treatment
