Thanks everybody. Yes, I can definitely identify with you, Hopeful51. It's a little scary sometimes.
I actually called my hepatologist and he said Imodium is fine. Better than the alternative, that's for sure...

In my view Immodium will do no harm. The patient information leaflet for virtually every drug in the universe contra-indicates for liver disease.
It is I believe a safe and effective remedy.
The alternattive is codeine.
This opinion is given with the clear proviso that I have no medical qualifications.
My own specialist had no concerns about immodium.
Oh Boy ... Elevator Farts
Vaginal Dryness
Diarrhea.....Be nice to blame on meds only but we all know thats not always true.
My Doc said half of an immodium .... I would double check with your own Doc....

Thanks everybody. I'll see how I am tomorrow and then check with the doc.

Lots of people have that reaction to ribavarin. Try rice or oatmeal. Bananas are good too, so is cheese.
Good luck with your tx.

I've been searching the archives here for weeks about symptoms and a lot of people report diarrhea as an off-an-on again symptom. It doesn't seem to be reported as a constant by most people but just something that starts up for a couple of days to weeks at worst as far as I can determine by the archives. Immodium seems to be mentioned most often as something that helps (mentioned in 14 posts).
However you should always ask you doctor questions like this rather than relying on an unprofessional opinion like my own.
