Thanks for responding! My friend is greater than .84 so cirrhosis is likely. The second say above .8 a 62% chance of cirrhosis. Darn....
He can't have biopsy so we need to find a fibroscan in the San Francisco area. Anyone know? He has Kaiser Insurance and they do not have one.
I'm going to start checking. Would be good to know where he stands and help push him for treatment. He doesn't want to do interferon again and I'm telling him it is only 12 weeks and worth it! Don't think he should wait for non interferon combo. Any feed back from anyone would be great. Thanks

Evaluation and Staging of Liver Fibrosis

HepaScore
At values less than or equal to 0.2, the negative predictive value to exclude fibrosis is 98%. At values greater than or equal to 0.8 the positive predictive value for predicting cirrhosis is 62% HepaScore this method is good at excluding significant fibrosis but not as good at predicting cirrhosis, and it is recommended that for a HepaScore of greater than 0.2 an adjunct marker of fibrosis be used to predict cirrhosis.

Found this link posted on past medhelp post. This explains Hepascore pretty well. My friend with score .86 has a high chance of cirrhosis but definately F2-F4. I think he needs to find fibroscan location since he cannot have biopsy.
