Doctors Tx

I am having problems finding a doctor that will treat my Hep C.  My insurance doesn't pay for much, like specialists.
Regular md's maybe an internal medicine doctor.  When I am really sick I go to the ER close to my house but it seems that I have a rather large bill that my insurance would not cover.  I know they are supposed to treat me anyway but I hate the fact that I owe them so much money.  I am trying to get in to see a good doctor but it's a
catch 22. As long as I have insurance the will not see me only homeless uninsured.  Crazy Huh?      Ruthie

Check with the nearest teaching/research facility.  Most of them have liver departments that will jump at the chance to treat a hepper and  the cost is minimal if any.  Even though I see a local GI for my treatment, my treatment is overseen by by Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, trust me, these universities know their stuff.  I know LadyLaurie thinks just as highl of them.

i'm sure there are hepatologist liver doc in such a big city as salt lake city where you're form.  just do a simple search on google and you'll find plenty like here:
http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/utah/hepatology/

if you don't have such a great insurance will you qualify for any of the gov programs?  also, if you can't cover the cost of treating, i hear Roche Pegasys has a support program for people who can't afford their medications, doesn't hurt to give them a call and ask friendly people:
http://www.pegasys.com/injecting/hep-c-support.aspx

also, if you are with a big liver clinic, they could supply you with samples of the medication, same amount except they could be in vials instead of prefilled syringes.

best of luck to you
