MT is great for those who aren't on treatment and for people who don't have an allergic reaction to it. I have a mild asthma that only flares up with certain triggers. I almost died from a reaction to penicillin with anaphyllatic shock. When we had all the fires in FL a couple of years ago, I was constantly having to use my inhaler. With all the pollen we've had recently, I had to use it. On a normal day, I don't have to use a regular inhaler. I tried the milk thistle more than one time while off of treatment and each time, it triggered me to have ALOT of wheezing. The 2nd time I tried it, I looked on the bottle and there was a warning on there about it being possible to trigger allergic reaction in people with hay fever and asthma. So, now I know that MT is off of the table for me as well. Susan400
I agree with your doctor, you should not take and supplements while treating, before and after have found to be benefical
my DR told me to stay away from any suppliments, especially Milk Thistle. I also understand that while in treatment, you don't want to take anything that alters your tracking enzymes.
i'm newly diagnosed and still trying to weed (sorry for the pun) my way thru this type of information.
MH. please dont let this important thread be hijacked with this mushroom / alge stuff. The supplement I posted about has been used for years in liver disease and is backed by many studies including this one I just posted about.
if a member wants to start a new thread about mushrooms or alge that are backed up with studies concerning HCV then that is fine. But don't let them lessen the importance of this thread by allowing it here.
thank you
Now my cydecorps mushroom soup with a springle of algae looks delicious
Don`t forget the coffee now .
How about Chocolate Java Silymarin ?
Mmmm. Then I'd always remember to take it :)
With the continued comment on MT and the recent thread on the benefits of chocolate, I wonder if they can be compounded....chocolate milk thistle.
